F.Y.I. - had to stop using the Edge (browser feature) for Page Color, as it affected ALL web pages. Now I am using the "Dark Reader" Extension for EDGE. so far, so good. It allows for individual settings per site.

@fae_alba- do you use a dryer/dehumidifier on your filament? I have a friend that swears it improves the quality of the 3D printing. Obviously, there are a number of reasons for PLA 3D printing issues.

here is frame 29 made into a png and webp. png and webp image both display in Edge with transparency. I tried Chrome and FireFox, but they didn't appear to have any transparency, although it's the first time I used those 2 browsers, so it could be a setting. It took me a little time to figure out how to manipulate the TGA's in Gimp to get transparency to show the Lens flare, as none of the images I could get from A:M had a alpha that showed the lense flare, only a B/W of the solid geometry (patches and splines). maybe I'm missing the setting somewhere that will create it. Tried enabling the output buffers, even for the lights (since it's configured on a light), but didn't find anyting. I have to see if I can write a script for Gimp to process the folder of images. Kind of tedious to do it frame by frame. untitled29_y.webp

APNG or maybe WEBP (haven't tried that format) work with transparency, so depending on where it's going to be used/viewed, might be options.

In Edge (win11) Settings>Appearance then "Page colors" select from the drop down (Dusk, Dessert, ...) then Page colors - set slider to left (OFF ???) for "Only apply page colors when high contrast themes are on" I use "Dusk"

I have Win 11, you have to drag the file to your PC or right click and "Copy to folder" Double clicking or selecting "Open" , just opens a browser window and as discussed on another post, Browsers no longer connect to FTP sites, at least not the common ones. What version widows are you running?
-
Edge also, has browser settings to change the web page presentation. Depends on what browser you are using?

try pasting the following into the address/location in Windows File Explorer (not the browser.

Bump... So, as I ease back into AM, there are a few "bumps" - like all the old .swf files I am finding while searching through my old hard drives and the AM Extra's I had collected back in the day. New PC, Windows 11, don't want to install all sorts of old software (that might be questionable. VLC fails, as does irfanview, because it required that Adobe flash Player already be installed. Of course, that hasn't been around for a while now and is not available from Adobe. I tried a couple of Online converters, similar results you mention above. Any recommendations?

So, I thought I'd bump this back for any discussion on new Apps to make your iPad an extra monitor and use as digital drawing tablet for AM. I just tried Splashtop Wired XDisplay HD, since I already had it. It's somewhat functional, but connctivity even though it is connected with a USB C cable gave me a few problems. I'll be playing with it some more, but there was quite a bit of lag and currently I can't get it to connect (Windows App to iOS App) I was toying with Copilot on my new PC and asked for recommendation. The old usual suspects (from 10+ years ago) came up (Duet Display, AstroPad) but there was also Easy Canvas. Found 3 flavors in the App store: EasyCanvas MacOS 11.0 or later w/ Apple M1 chip or later Win 10 (WDDM ver 2.0 or later) iPad OS 12.2 or later 14 day trial purchace $11.99 EasyCanvas Subscription Mac ??? Win 10 (WDDM ver 2.0 or later) iPad OS 12.2 or later subscription $4.99 EasyCanvas 2025 Win11 or later iPad iOS 17 or later 3 day trial purchase $12.99 The first 2 seem to be identical (version 4.8.4 last update 9 months ago). The 2025 appears to be separate (version 2.0.5 last update 5 months ago). Read a bunch of reviews, found a few youtube reviews: this one is about the Android based Magic Drawing Pad, but he demos using it via EasyCanvas 2025 This one is using iPad Pro but with the earlier version of EasyCanvas Looking at the demos and for the price, it seems like it's worth a try. Has anyone tried it yet?

I like that idea of a spherical material effector and the double gradient. I experimented with a simple double graient material applied to all objects . never quite worked right. I'll have to try this method.

What program are you using the depmth map in to create the final image? I'm just curious. I've played a little with Gimp and Paint.Net. They don't, as Robert pointed out have a proper blur using a depth map. You can't choose the grey value for the infocus depth. So I understand your experimenting to move the white to the area you want to be in focus. But as he also points out, there are problems for some programs to not blur the in focus objects. Like the trees taht are at the same focal depth as your infocus rock. The truck near the ground is infocus, but as it gets thinner and is against the blurred backgournd, it ends up getting blurred. In theory, it should still have sharp edges except where something in the foreground passes in front of it. Gimp seems to leave an unwanted edge on the out of focus objects (at least on my experiments). Paint.Net (with the Blur map plugin) uses a grey scale (or alpha or RGB or ARGB or...) as a blur map with white being in focus and black being blurred. It seems to handle the sharp edges of the in focus objects against a blured background.
