Trying now to set up a chor that I can bring to LAT but thought I'd ask ahead of that in hopes that this is another common problem that I'm mis-handling.

Rigged a leg and setup Smartskin before IK setup (AM gets angry if not done this way) then I do the IK and seems to work until I tried to tweak the smartskin after IK and it spazzes out and freezes (not the whole program just the smartskin)

So my question is - is there any way to tweak a smartskin after IK setup? I've found that to do so I have to completely delete the smartskin or the IK constraint completely (as just setting the IK percent to 0% doesn't do it)

I think in a past conversation you (robcat) had mentioned that one must ONLY use the bones directly connected to the smartskin to do smartskin (hence the spasms that happen after IK setup)

Thanks

If you're referring to 2001 Skeleton Rig (2001 Skeleton.mdl), you can easily edit the Smartskin at any time. After editing, you can save the model in a different version for various actions. Here's how I do it:
1. Open 2001 Skeleton.mdl to use it as a model in your project.
2. In the project workspace, delete the 8 basic Rig Relationships of the model whose Smartskin you want to edit.
3. Edit the Smartskin as needed.
4. Drag and drop the 8 basic Rig Relationships from 2001 Skeleton.mdl onto the model with the modified Smartskin.
5. See the accompanying video clip.
6. Sometimes you may need to close the project and reopen it.
