  1. Hey--If you want to show support for TAR, wear one of these awesome T-shirts, or drink your coffee in one of these awesome mugs!
  2. That is something that I am going to play with in a shot that I'm working on now--emitting some sprite dust to drift-off in the wind.
  3. You can get critiques on your work from the forum members at any time. There is no need for a contest.
  4. If you aren't going to participate, why should anyone else?
  5. Really nice job on the set and character, Mark!!!
  6. Syntheyes will track the footage and export the camera data to A:M
  7. An object won't pick-up the rotoscope unless you have 'front projection target' checked
  8. Rodney, Special topic is fine with me...2011 looks like the year of TAR !!!!

    Welcome Back!
  10. Here is a little test. Rendered at about 1min:30seconds per frame at D1 resolution. There are two images used as rotoscopes: the background and a little dust gradient image(set to 'in front'). the ground plane is set to 'front projection target'. I think it looks pretty good--I think adding some layer objects, and some moving clouds would make for a very convincing shot walk_layertest_sm.mov
  11. Sprite explosion
  12. Playing with Photoshop...thinking about some stylized painted backgrounds, to save production time...
  13. Actually, just woke-up a couple of hours early this morning and did this--definately will spend more time for a final shot. But I thought i might need a looping walk, if Tar became the new mascot (for the render panel)
  14. Here is a little walk-cycle of Tar: walk.mov
  15. I favor the pose sliders... I have been making -100% to 100% sliders, based on Jason Osipa's "stop staring" method [eg. Upper Lip_down-up], and then using these base poses to build more complex expressions (Smile-Frown) and Phonemes. It seems pretty easy to organize the poses into folders to keep from having to scroll... I think it's just a matter of preferences.
  16. So where are the entries? Lets see!!!
  17. wow! You are prolific!!! That is an impressive body of work
  18. Here is another great resource not just about composing the shot, but choosing the shot. from Karen J. Loyd's storyboard blog: http://karenjlloyd.com/blog/2008/11/20/sho...ls-story-walle/ Rodney, I didn't attend the "famous artist school"--I attended Art Instruction Schools: http://www.artinstructionschools.edu/
  19. There is a Skype "Extras" panel where you can download a screen-sharing app. I think it is called "innerpass". I use it occasionally--add me to your contacts(zandoria)!
  20. Thanks for all of the kind feedback! I'm really excited about this project, and I feel like I've got some good momentum in 2011
  21. Here is the rigged and textured version of Tar. I used TSM 2 for the rig, 3D Painter and Photoshop for the maps, and Simbiont A:M materials (Dark Tree) for his equipment.
  22. bravo! I'll have to remember that lipsync trick!
